Former Gujarat CM Shankersinh Vaghela flaunts fitness goals days after recovering from coronavirus

Aged 80, former Gujarat CM Shankersinh Vaghela recently recovered from the novel coronavirus.

Shankersinh Vaghela, former Chief Minister of Gujarat is giving fitness enthusiasts younger than him a run for their money. The veteran politician who recently recovered from the novel coronavirus posted pictures of himself lifting weights on the micro-blogging website Twitter.

Aged 80, Shankersinh Vaghela was admitted to the Sterling Hospital in Ahmedabad on June 28 after his samples tested positive for Covid-19. Following a week-long battle with the infection, the veteran politician was discharged from the hospital after he recovered. He then returned to his residence in Gandhinagar.

FORMER GUJARAT chief minister Shankersinh Vaghela said Saturday he has been put under “house arrest” while the police have detained several of his supporters from outside the Sabarmati Ashram.

Vaghela and his supporters had planned to march from the Gandhi Ashram in Ahmedabad to Raj Ghat in New Delhi to extend support to the farmers who are protesting at the border of the national capital against three contentious farm laws — the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020; and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.

Shankersinh Vaghela demands PM’s resignation, NARCO test for Arnab Goswami

Former Gujarat Chief Minister Shankersinh Vaghela has hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his alleged role in leaking information of Balakot strike and demanded that he resigns on moral grounds on the Republic Day.

Once a close associate of Modi, Vaghela said in Gandhinagar on Friday that Arnab Goswami of Republic Television and Partho Dasgupta of BARC should be subjected to NARCO test to reveal more.

Talking about the TRP scam, he said that the Prime Minister was also to be blamed for the information about the Balakot strike, which was known to only five persons. 

Alleging that the PM was responsible for the leak, Vaghela said that the Official Secrets Act, 1923 should be applied to the PM and Goswami. “It is an issue of country’s security,” Vaghela said, adding that if Modi has moral grounds, which he does not, then he should apologize and resign on January 26.

Octogenarian politician Shankersinh Vaghela, who recently got treated for coronavirus infection, posted photographs on his Twitter account which show why he could easily beat the global pandemic within days. On his Twitter post, he is seen lifting heavy weights and jogging, which has inspired young and old alike.

Shankersinh Vaghela, 81, fondly known as ‘Bapu’ by his followers, recently posted the pictures showing him lifting weights and jogging, which went viral within moments.

He also shared a video showing him doing bench-presses with the heavy barbell and chest pullovers with heavy dumbbells. The pictures also show heavy barbell curls and shoulder presses by Bapu. The caption in Gujarati says, ”Body fit with mind fit makes life a hit”.

Recently, former Gujarat chief minister Shankersinh Vaghela recovered from COVID-19. He was tested positive earlier this month and as discharged from the hospital after he became alright. Now, he is spending his time getting fitter and better.

On his Twitter, he posted two photos of him working out. The caption was translated from Gujarati as, “Body fit + Mind fit = Life hit.” The 80-year-old was seen jogging in one photo and lifting weights in another.

Ex-CM Shankersinh Vaghela Warns PM Modi Of Economic Crisis Post COVID-19; Lists His Issues

In a four-page letter written by former Chief Minister of Gujarat Shankersinh Vaghela, the former ally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has questioned the latter on the preparedness for an economic crisis post-COVID-19. 

In this strongly-worded letter, Vaghela has claimed that it is a need of the hour to focus on the economy or else India will witness “worse situation than what the Americans had faced in the severe economic crisis of 1929-30” – the crisis which is also referred to as ‘The Great Depression’ where the global unemployment rate had shot up to 24.9% and global GDP decline stood at 26.7%.
